Uruguay 2013

We set out for Uruguay at noon on Friday and arrived 24 hours later. Flights were relatively smooth, and we made all our connections. Customs went well, with hardly any resistance getting the tuba (and other instruments) through security.

We met Bruce and the other team members at the airport as shown in the picture to the left.

The Girls Club enjoyed decorating sugar cookies, making Christmas ornaments out of beads, which is a rare opportunity for girls this age to do together.

Steph and Emily enjoyed the cookies, as did the rest of the girls (and Herald Brass Team).

One of the highlights of our time in Montevideo is the food that Bruce and Stephanie Beers cook for us.

Here you see Bruce cutting up some of the steak that he made on the Asado grill.  Uruguay is known to have the best beef in the world. Wow, this was GOOD steak.  Everyone enjoyed a time of fellowship and wonderful food together.

These are our friends, Bruce and Steph, who host us in Uruguay.

  1. Hello HB:
Great pictures. I recognize both people and places and would love to be with you. Actually it looks a whole lot nicer to go there in December than in July! Praying for you several times a day and hope you get enough sleep to keep you going strong.
Keep making a joyful noise and I'm sure The Lord is using you in a mighty way.
Love to Bruce and Steph. Dot
